Leon is an experienced and broadly based business change, turnaround and transformation executive with many years both in major corporations and public bodies specialising in challenging change and transformation management and M&A pre and post acquisition integration. He has experience in HR, organisation development, training, IT systems integration, process improvement communications and management mentoring. He has advised UK and European private equity firms for portfolio companies or new acquisitions. He has worked in most countries in the European Union and in Africa. He is fluent in French with business German and business proficiency in Russian. He has a science based background in agriculture, scientific research, and has experience in public bodies involved in nuclear and offshore power industries. He has depth and breadth in business experience both technically and geographically and is well versed in operating in a range of cultures and jurisdictions.
Professional Experience
Leon began his career in Africa working in agriculture projects before joining Fisons, and then Monsanto (USA) working in product development. He was a senior scientist with Shell for several years working with Human Resources in selection and team building. He moved to KPMG as a senior consultant and then to Sema Group before concentrating on change management with Impact Plus. He worked independently from 2004 on a number of challenging and high profile change management projects including engagements in Singapore in offshore engineering and South Korea with Samsung Insurance. He has experience in SAP and other computer systems. He has worked in UK government projects with the Carbon Trust, HMRC, MOD and Science Research Council. In joining BM&T he brought with him significant experience in change management in challenging situations in private equity portfolio companies. Leon also is highly creative and helps clients develop brand identity, storyboard and purpose – essential for engaging a client’s USP in the marketplace.
