Jaco van Niekerk specialises in cash management of distressed and challenged businesses. He has worked independently in the UK as a finance professional and hands-on advisor to challenged businesses for over ten years, consulting on performance improvement, working capital management and cash forecasting. Jaco qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa in 1996 and is a member of ICAEW, SAICA and the TMA. He is fluent in Dutch having worked 9 years in Amsterdam, a large part of that at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has been the corporate controller of a US listed company, and has worked on projects in Tajikistan, Bosnia Herzegovina, France, Germany and South Africa, working in manufacturing, leisure, telecom and retail.

With a strong operational background in a variety of countries, Jaco provides practical experience-based solutions for cross-border issues. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in South Africa before spending three years as a financial controller in the South African Atomic Energy Corporation. He moved to The Netherlands as an audit manager in its international business unit and then to Colt Telecom and Diageo Plc in Sarbanes Oxley compliance. He spent time in USA with CRP Inc in Houston before moving to UK and working as an independent assuming a number of interim and short-term roles in special situations particularly focused on crisis management, cash generation and reporting, working capital management and financial modelling. He has worked across a variety of industries and in a number of financial management roles. He is experienced in operational improvement, financial modelling and forecasting, internal control implementation and financial reporting.
